WAEC Releases 2016 GCE Results,13488 Results Withheld - See Performance Statistics


The West African Examinations Council,WAEC, has released the results of the 2016 Nov/Dec West African Senior School Certificate Examination, (WASSCE).

The results were announced by the Head of National Office, Nigeria, Mr Olu Adenipekun yesterday in Lagos.

According to him, “A total of 66,497 (Sixty Six Thousand Four Hundred and Ninety Seven) candidates, representing 38.50%, obtained credits in five (5) subjects and above, including English Language and Mathematics. “The percentage of candidates that obtained five (5) credits and above including English Language and Mathematics in the WASSCE for Private Candidates in 2014 and 2015 was 29.37% and 20.59% respectively.

“19 (Nineteen) visually challenged candidates registered for and sat the examination in Nigeria. From this figure, 4 (Four) candidates, representing 21.05% obtained credit in five (5) subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.

“Of the total number of 172,699 (One Hundred and Seventy Two Thousand Six Hundred and Ninety Nine) candidates that sat the examination, 149,651 (One Hundred and Forty Nine Thousand Six Hundred and Fifty One) candidates, representing 86.65% obtained credits and above in two (2) subjects; 134,152 (One Hundred and Thirty Four Thousand One Hundred and Fifty Two) candidates, representing 77.67% obtained credits and above in three (3) subjects, while 116,133 (One Hundred and Sixteen Thousand One Hundred and Thirty Three) candidates, representing 67.25% obtained credits and above in four (4) subjects.

95,294 (Ninety Five Thousand Two Hundred and Ninety Four) candidates, representing 55.18% obtained credits and above in five (5) subjects, while 72,229 (Seventy Two Thousand Two Hundred and Twenty Nine) candidates, representing 41.82% obtained credits and above in six (6) subjects.”

EKSU Evening Part-time Degree Programme Admission 2016/2017 Announced

The management of Ekiti State University has announced admission into its evening part-time degree programme for 2016/2017 academic session.

CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION INTO THE PART-TIME EVENING DEGREE PROGRAMMES
Candidates for the Part-Time Evening Programmes must possess:
1. Five ‘0’ level Credit passes in relevant subjects at the SSCE/NECO/GCE 0/L or its equivalents at not more than two sittings for the five session programmes.

2. ND with minimum of Lower Credit in relevant discipline for the four session programmes.

3. HND with minimum of Lower Credit in relevant discipline or HND with pass plus PGD in relevant discipline or University first degree with minimum of Pass in relevant disciplines or ICAN Final examination ANAN Final examination & CIB final examination for the three-session programmes.

4. All ND and HND candidates must satisfy the ‘0’ level requirements.

METHOD OF APPLICATION
-Candidates are to logon to the university portal http://portal.eksu.ng/
-Candidates are expected to make a payment of 11,000 naira online with their Naira Debit Card on the university portal.
-Select Programme
-Enter the information requested for validation.
-Fill the application form online and submit
-Print a copy of the form after submission
-Duly completed applications forms are to be submitted alongside photocopy of credentials to the office of the Secretary Directorate of Part-Time Programmes at Ifaki Campus of the University.

UNICAL Notice On Closure Of Academic Activities / Payment Of Fees 2016/17



This is to inform all students of University of Calabar (UNICAL) that all official and Academic activities will come to a close today December 19th, 2016.

The Institution will resume for academic activities on January 3rd, 2017.

Consequently, all Freshmen of the University of Calabar are hereby informed that they will commence payment of School Charges and registration on Tuesday, 3rd January, 2017.

Imo Poly Merit Admission List HND/ND 2016/2017 Published Online

The management of Imo State Polytechnic, Umuagwo (IMOPOLY) has published the merit list of admitted students for the 2016/2017 academic session.

The list contains the names of National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) admitted candidates.

589 names were published in the OND category and about 1020 names published in the HND category.

FUOYE EXTENDS CHANGE OF COURSE DEADLINE FOR 2016/2017

The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has extended the deadline for admission change of course 2016/2017.

The new deadline is December 6th 2016.

This is for applicants who may wish to change their course of study to the recently approved new academic programmes in the university

JAMB Important Information To All Newly ADMITTED Candidates

All candidates who have been offered provisional admission for the 2016/2017 academic session to institutions they did not choose as their most preferred institution (First Choice) or did not choose at all that they are to proceed to JAMB portal: jamb.org.ng to make the institution that have offered them admission their most preferred choice.

The same applies to candidates who have been offered courses different from the one they originally applied to study.

Candidates are to ensure they complete this process on or before December 9th, 2016 to enable JAMB change their admission letters and also adjust their records accordingly.

After effecting the changes as described above, candidates are expected to visit the school that have offered them admission with the confirmation slip that was printed out from jamb website for admission validation.
