UNILAG Admission List 2023/2024 now on JAMB CAPS

 University of Lagos Admission list for the 2023/2024 academic session has been released. This is to inform all candidates who participated in the 2023/2024 Admission Screening Exercise that they can proceed to check if their names are on the Provisional Admission list of successful candidates

The list of admitted candidates have been uploaded online via JAMB CAPS. Candidates are to follow the procedure below to check;

How To Check the Admission Status on JAMB CAPS

  • Visit: https://www.jamb.gov.ng/Efacility and login with your registered email address and password to access your dashboard
  • Click on ‘Check Admission Status,
  • Click on ‘Access my CAPS’
  • Click on 'Admission Status' to see if you have been offered admission.

Candidates who have been offered admission are to proceed to click "ACCEPT" or "REJECT" to indicate acceptance or rejection of the admission offer. For those whose status is showing "Admission Still in Progress" or "Not Admitted", you are advised to keep checking as the status may change anytime soon.

OAU notice on reduction of school fees charges

 In a rare show of administrative magnanimity, the authorities of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, have reviewed downward, the sundry charges payable by the students of the University.This followed the meeting the University management had with the leadership of the Students Union on Monday, 25th September, 2023.

The meeting, which lasted for several hours, was called by the University management, after several agitations by the Students Union for a reduction of the initial charges approved by the University. Although the Students Union leaders were adamant that the charges be reduced by 50%, but the University management made it clear that the new charges were the minimum the University require to run efficiently.

Accordingly, the Vice- Chancellor, Professor Adebayo Simeon Bamire, graciously announced that the charges initially announced have been reduced as follows:

For the students in Humanities, the initial sundry charges of #89, 200 for returning students have been reduced to #76,000 while for the new students in the Humanities, the initial fees of #151,200 have been reduced to #131,000.

For those in the Sciences and Technology, the initial charges of #101,200, for returning students is now #86,000 while the new students in the same Faculties will now pay #141,000 instead of the initial #163,200. 

In the same vein, the returning students in Pharmacy and College of Health Sciences will now pay #109,000, instead of #128,200. The new students in the same Faculties will now pay #164,000 instead of the initial charges of #190,000. 

The University management has equally agreed that the payment can be in two equal installments. Meanwhile, the University portal is now open to students for payment.

UNIJOS revised undergraduate school charges and extension of payment deadline

 This is to inform Students of the University of Jos, Parents and members of the public that the University Administration has approved a further revision in the School Charges structure payable by Undergraduate Students of the institution from the 2022/2023 Academic Session. The University Administration approved a reduction in the charges following a meeting with the expanded Students Union Government Executives of the University.

In view of its commitment to carry all stakeholders along following the University’s earlier decision to review its School Charges structure, the University Administration has made additional concessions in response to its engagement with the Students representatives.

UNIJOS revised undergraduate school charges and extension of payment deadline

Some of the key decisions resulting from the interaction between the University Administration and the Students representatives include the following:

1. The main charges for Returning Students who are not offering GST courses have been reduced from N150,000.00 to N95,000.00 while N100,000.00 will be paid by Returning Students offering GST courses.

2. Fresh Students will now pay N130,000.00, down from the initial charge of N180,000.00.

3. Laboratory/Studio/Workshop charges are now set at N25,000.00 for Students who exclusively use these facilities down from N30,000.00.

4. The University Administration has also approved for Instalment payments to be introduced as follows:

- All Returning Students not using laboratory/studio/workshop facilities and not offering GST courses are to pay N95,000.00 as the 1st instalment and N10,000.00 as the 2nd instalment.

- All Returning Students not using laboratory/studio/workshop facilities but who offer GST courses are to pay N100,000.00 as the 1st instalment and N10,000.00 as the 2nd instalment.

- All Returning Students without GST courses but who use laboratory/studio/workshop facilities are to pay N95,000.00 as the 1st instalment and N35,000.00 as the 2nd instalment.

- All Returning Students who use laboratory/studio/workshop facilities and offer GST courses are to pay N100,000.00 as the 1st instalment and N35,000.00 as the 2nd instalment.

- New Students not using laboratory/studio/workshop facilities but who offer GST courses are to pay N130,000.00 as the 1st instalment and N10,000.00 as the 2nd instalment.

- New Students who will use laboratory/studio/workshop facilities and who offer GST courses are to pay N130,000.00 as the 1st instalment and N35,000.00 as the 2nd instalment.

5. Similarly, Two percent (2%) of the amount payable by all Students will be dedicated to assisting indigent Students, with 50% being channeled towards providing scholarships for indigent Students and the other 50% to be utilized for the expansion of the University’s Work-Study programme.

6. Spilled over Students (having one Semester left to complete their studies) will be required to pay only 50% of the reviewed charges.

7. The deadline for the registration exercise has been extended by a further 2 weeks. The new deadline is now 8th October, 2023.

8. Two of the Students leaders, the SUG President and 1 nominee of the Hall Governors, will serve as members of the Hostels Maintenance Committee.

In light of the above decisions, the University Administration advises all Students and Parents to take note of the revised charges and adhere to the new payment and registration guidelines. All Students should also note that 1st Semester lectures for the 2022/2023 Academic Session have since commenced.

Furthermore, the University Administration has approved the re-opening of the Naraguta, Zion, and Postgraduate hostels from Friday, 22nd September, 2023, for Students interested in seeking accommodation on campus. However, Abuja and Village hostels will remain closed until minor repairs are completed.

The University of Jos remains focused on providing an excellent learning experience and supporting its Students in achieving their academic and career goals. The University Administration is, therefore, committed to being transparent and accountable in the management of the University’s resources as it continues to strengthen areas of common interest and deepen partnership with the Students and other stakeholders.

Redeemer's University list of items new students are expected to resume with

 All new students of Redeemers University are by this notice informed that they are required to get the following ready for the resumption of academic activities for the 2023/2024 session as approved by the management of the university.

APPROVED LIST OF ITEMS FOR FRESH STUDENTS
Fresh students are expected to resume with the following items:

They should note, however, that the following items are prohibited and having them amounts to serious misconduct.

             DRESS CODE

The University attaches great importance to modest and good dressing. Our students will be encouraged to develop and imbibe a personal lasting philosophy of dressing and grooming in conformity with the University values.

DRESS CODE FOR MALE STUDENTS

1. All male students should be appropriately dressed for University activities and occasions. They must be corporately dressed during special occasions which include lectures, matriculation, special ceremonies, Founder’s Day, convocation, public lectures, church services and examinations. To be corporately dressed connotes a shirt and necktie, a pair of trousers, with or without a jacket, and a pair of covered shoes. Every student dressing in western attire must wear a neck tie to match. The tie knot must be pulled up to the top button of the shirt.

2. At all times wearing of long-sleeved shirts, without buttoning the sleeves is not allowed.

a. Flying of shirts collars is prohibited.

b. Shirts must be properly tucked into the trousers.

Wearing of the following items (clothing and shoes, etc) is strictly prohibited:

a. Scarves, braided hair or earrings in the University.

b. Pulling down of one’s trousers to the hip line.

c. Piercing of any part of the body.

d. Tattooing on any part of the body.

e. Bangles, rings of any kind, hand and leg chains.

f. Face-caps except for sports and other related events.

3. Male students may wear African traditional attires on Fridays and weekends.

4. Traditional dresses may be worn with leather slippers or half shoes.

5. Students are to have well cut hair that is combed regularly. When they wear

beard, it must be neat and well-kept.

6. Male students may wear jeans with covered shoes only. The jeans must be of one colour, not frail at the edges, not torn at any part or patched.

7. Jeans, if worn, must be with proper shoes (not with canvas or sandals).

8. Male students may wear French suits.

9. All male students are expected to wear covered shoes to the University Chapel, examinations and University assembly except when wearing traditional dresses.

10. Wearing of slippers and half shoes is not allowed within the University premises from 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Mondays to Thursdays.

11. Wearing of T-shirt is only allowed for sporting activities and on weekends when there are no official University activities.

12. Dressing is not complete without the wearing and displaying of identity card.

13. No student should walk around the hostel without wearing a pair of trousers or shorts and a normal shirt or T-shirt.

DRESS CODE FOR FEMALE STUDENTS

1. All female students must be corporately dressed during special occasions, which include lectures, public lectures, special ceremonies, matriculation, convocation and examination. To be corporately dressed means a smart skirt suit, a dress shirt on a smart skirt or a smart dress with a pair of covered shoes.

2. All dresses and skirts must be three (3) inches BELOW THE KNEES.

3. Wearing of the following items (clothing and shoes) is strictly prohibited:

• Sleeveless dresses or dresses with very tiny singlet – like straps (spaghetti strap) without a jacket.

• Strapless blouses.

• Dropping shawls or scarves over sleeveless dresses or dresses with very tiny singlet-like strap (spaghetti strap) in the lecture and examination halls and the University environment.

• Over-clinging clothing, including body hugs, hip stand and any clothing made from stretchy and elastic material.

• Revealing blouses, especially low-cut blouses, ordinary transparent dresses and blouses that do not cover the navel.

• Shoes that make noise such as stiletto shoes in the lecture and examination halls and the University environment.

• Trousers of any kind.

• Blouses that reveal parts of the underwear and the back while seated.

• Bangles, rings of any kind, hand and leg chains.

• The use of face-caps except for sports.

• Painting of any part of the body, wearing artificial nails and having long nails.

• Wearing of bolero tops on sleeveless, spaghetti, boob-tube, alter-neck and monostrap.

1. Slippers and half-shoes are confined to the halls except when wearing traditional dresses.

2. Pyjamas, night dress or gown is restricted to the same floor within the hostel.

3. Female students are advised to wear hairstyles that are neat and becoming of a decent and joyful Redeemer’s University student. Coloured hair and coloured attachments are strictly prohibited. Attachment when used should be moderate in length not exceeding the level of the shoulders.

4. Earrings and necklaces may be used by female students provided they are not extravagant types. Not more than one earring must be worn in each ear.

5. Female students may wear low sandals or covered corporate shoes.

6. Track suits, tennis shoes or sneakers should only be worn for sports activities.

7. Piercing of any part of the body, other than the ear (for earrings) is strictly prohibited.

8. Clothing and jewellery that do not conform to the prescribed dress code will be confiscated.

9. Skirts must be worn with slips underneath.

10. Female students may wear traditional African attires only on Fridays and weekends.

11. Traditional African dresses must be worn with leather slippers or half shoes

12. Wearing of T-shirt is only allowed for sporting activities and on weekends when there are no official University activities.

13. Female students may wear jeans skirt or gown with cover shoes or sandals only. The jeans must be of one colour, clean, not frail at the edges, not torn at any part and patched.

14. No students should move from one block to another or go to any office within the hostel without being properly dressed.

15. Dressing is not complete without the wearing and displaying of identity card.

UNIABUJA Post-UTME/DE 2023: cut-off mark, eligibility and registration details

 This is to invite all candidates who sat for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), and made the University of Abuja their first choice, for a Post UTME online screening from Monday 11th September 2023 to Friday 13th October 2023.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SCREENING:
1. Candidates must have relevant O' Level result(s) at NOT MORE THAN TWO (2) SITTINGS and scored a minimum of 180 in the 2023 UTME;

UNIABUJA Post-UTME/DE 2023: cut-off mark, eligibility and registration details

ii. Candidates must have made the University of Abuja their first choice or changed from other institutions to make the University of Abuja their first choice;

iii. Candidates for Direct Entry (D.E) Admission will be required to upload both their O' Levels and Higher qualifications accordingly, to the University portal and register for the screening exercise.

PROCEDURE FOR THE 2023/2024 PRE-ADMISSIONS SCREENING:

1. Visit https://portal.uniabuja.edu.ng and click on "Click here to apply";

2. Click Undergraduate link on the left panel

3. Enter your JAMB Registration Number and Click on "Get details";

4. Complete the basic information page (Please note: Enter only valid phone number and email address and click next;

5. All candidates are required to pay the sum of two thousand naira (N2, 000) only for the screening:

6. On the payment review page, click on "Generate RRR" and this takes you to next page;

7. Click "Submit" and you will be redirected to Remita payment page;

8. Enter credit or debit (ATM) card number and other details as appropriate and submit;

9. Enter "OTP code" sent to your phone and click continue to complete your payment;

10. After successful payment, click on "Main login" on the portal, enter your Jamb registration and Surname as password;

11. Click on "Login to dashboard" and complete your registration;

12. Ensure that you print completed registration form and payment receipt.

Note: It is mandatory for all candidates to upload their O level results to JAMB portal, otherwise they will not be considered for admission.

UNIMAID Post-UTME/DE 2023: cut-off marks, eligibility and registration details

 This is to inform all candidates who applied for admission into University of Maiduguri (Unimaid) for 2023/2024 academic session that the Post UTME/DE (PUTME) Screening Exercise will commence on Monday, 18th September, 2023 and will end midnight of Sunday, 22nd October 2023.

Candidates are advised to visit the website putme.unimaid.edu.ng for details on the procedure for on-line registration, requirements for the screening exercise, procedure for payment and other general information. Candidates are to pay a non-refundable fee of TWO THOUSAND NAIRA (N 2,000) ONLY THROUGH REMITA PLATFORM.

UNIMAID Post-UTME/DE 2023: cut-off marks, eligibility and registration details

1. ELIGIBILITY

i. Only UTME and DE candidates who selected University of Maiduguri as first choice during 2023 JAMB are eligible for the Screening Exercise.

ii. UTME candidates MUST have minimum score of 140, except those courses for which higher cut-off marks have been indicated on the university's website

iii. Candidates must meet the minimum UTME scores for their chosen courses and have the right UTME subject combinations as prescribed in the 2023 JAMB Brochure

iv. Candidates who do not meet any of the above requirements will be allowed to change to another course whose requirement they meet.

v. All candidates must possess a minimum of five O' Level credits in subjects relevant to their proposed courses including Mathematics and English Language at not more than two sittings. In addition, Direct Entry candidates must possess a minimum of Lower Credit at National and/or Higher National Diploma Level(s) or Merit at NCE Level

vi. Only O' Level result print-out(s) downloaded directly from the website of the national examing bodies (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB) or photocopies of original certificate(s) will be accepted at verification.
